The Arc™ Meningitis Skin Test |
The Arc™ is a skin test device to help carers identify symptoms of meningitis, using the principles of the well known tumbler test. The device is placed against a suspect rash but unlike the tumbler test, it displays an image of a meningitis rash next to a clear plastic surface so that a comparison can then be made between the image and the actual rash. The device is designed to help non-medical professionals such as parents and teachers identify the possibility of meningitis. The device also states the other symptoms that can be associated with meningitis providing valuable information to carers who may not be familiar with the symptoms. The Arc is a CE marked class I medical device.
