Robotic Rehab Receives Rewards |
![]() Scottish Health Innovations were winners at the the coveted 2011 Genesis Awards. Scottish Health Innovations won the Medtech Innovation award for working to commercialise iPAM, a collaborative project between Dr Alastair Cozens, Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine at Woodend Hospital in Aberdeen and the University of Leeds. iPAM is a robotic system which increases the opportunities for stroke patients to exercise their stroke affected upper limbs between their conventional therapy sessions. Dr Nigel McLean commented "This award recognises the substantial effort put in by all the contributing parties, without them the project would never have reached such a mature stage. This award comes at a great time as we are entering a multi-centre clinical trial to help us towards our objective of taking this product to market and benefit patients more widely" |
