Developing NHS Fife as an innovative organisation - Intellectual Property Advice Clinics
It is important that the NHS has innovation at the heart of its business, and NHS Fife is keen to encourage and capture innovations that can lead to new products, improved interventions and services for health and social care.
NHS Fife is committed to ensuring that innovations are identified and developed in the interests of patients and society as a whole and has a mandatory duty to audit, protect and exploit Intellectual Property developed by all its employees.
Scottish Health Innovations Limited (SHIL) has been established to support the development and commercialisation of innovations arising within the NHS. SHIL seeks to identify and develop innovations and is able to provide high quality advice and assistance on market application and intellectual property protection to inventors and researchers throughout NHSScotland.
Dr Robert Rea from SHIL will be running advice clinics in the Education Centre, at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline. Robert will be available to answer any questions you might have about how best to protect of your ideas that result from your work on the wards, in the offices, workshops or labs of the Fife Health Board.
Advice can include discussions about the use of copyright material or advice pertaining to the protection (by copyright or patent) of your ideas. So if you have any intellectual property related queries or would like an opportunity to discuss any ideas you may have come up with why not come along.
The sessions are from 11am to 2pm. Please contact Amy Scobie (R&D Support Officer) to make an appointment.
