B1 Medical is an orthopaedic product development and commercialisation company. The basis of B1 Medical's expertise is the conversion of ideas and inventions into marketable products by the effective management of the development process. The company is a spin-out formed by NHS Grampian via Scottish Health Innovations Ltd (SHIL) the University of Aberdeen and Robert Gordon University. The Company was established to develop academic and NHS innovations in the field of orthopaedics. In July 2006 the company secured launch funding and five inventions have been developed to date. There has been a change of both Chief Executive Officer and Chairman and with funding in place for immediate needs the company is better placed to restart the development and sales orginally planned.
